Fever + jaundice + right-upper-quadrant pain = cholangitis. Emergency.

What it is
When ERCP fails or isn't feasible, percutaneous biliary drainage relieves jaundice and prevents cholangitis. Can be a bridge to surgery or a definitive palliative measure.

- Yellow eyes and skin
- Pale stools, dark urine
- Fever with rigors (cholangitis — emergency)

Percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage under image guidance; internalisation and metallic stenting where appropriate.
