What it is
For men with BPH-related urinary symptoms who prefer to avoid or aren't candidates for TURP or other surgery, PAE reduces prostate volume by blocking the small arteries feeding it — day-case, preserving sexual function.

Diagnosis
Urology assessment, uroflowmetry, prostate USG or MRI.

Treatment
Femoral or wrist puncture, super-selective catheterisation of prostatic arteries, embolisation with particles. Day-case with a few hours' recovery.
