What it is
Fibroids are benign muscular tumours of the uterus. When symptomatic, treatment options include medication, surgery (myomectomy, hysterectomy), and uterine artery embolisation — a keyhole IR procedure that shrinks fibroids by blocking their blood supply.

Treatment
Uterine artery embolisation via a wrist or groin puncture, typically 24-hour admission. We coordinate with your gynaecologist and are honest about who is or isn't a good candidate (fertility plans, submucosal fibroids, etc.).
